A New Tool for Diagnosing Mesothelioma Cancers

Rosetta Genomics, Ltd holds it hand with NYU Medical center to develop early diagnostic products for Asbestos Lung cancer (Mesothelioma) and other lung ailments.

According to this program, nearly 45 million Americans who are at the brink of Mesothelioma due to exposure to asbestos fibers, as well as those who are smokers.

This test mainly aims at extracting microRNAs from a simple blood draw from the suspected persons. This is the main protocol for the Rosetta Genomics’ Ltd.

Dr. Harvey Pass, Professor and Chief, Division of Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic Oncology at NYU Medical Center opined that this simple test of  detecting lung cancer will really have far reaching implication on the fight against cancer.

The researchers confirmed that microRNAs are having great potential to act as a perfect biomarkers for various cancers including asbestos lung cancer.

We can hope for the best as the two giants- NYU medical center and Rosetta Genomics provide a real boon in early diagnosis of mesothelioma by means of microRNA diagnosis.
